• Real-Life Relative: James' son Tommy voiced his father in a McLaren 50 episode. Bruno Senna, nephew of Ayrton Senna, also portrayed his uncle in an episode about Ayrton.
• What Could Have Been: Concept art for a number of drivers by Framestore surfaced on the web, showing portraits of Niki Lauda amongst others. It appears that Lauda was due to make an appearance in the series, perhaps in a McLaren 50 episode alongside other past drivers who graced the team, but commitments with Mercedes prevented him from doing so. He was instead replaced with a thinly-veiled Expy in a play on his rivalry with James Hunt.
