• Dawson Casting: The film's high school cast is made of up of actors who were in their early twenties at the time of filming. Most egregiously done with Jannel Parrish (29 at the time of release) as college freshman Margot. Interestingly Anna Cathcart (15, playing 11) is closer to high school age than the actors playing high schoolers.
• Fake Mixed Race: Lana Condor is of Vietnamese descent and she plays Lara Jean, who is half Korean and half white.
• The Red Stapler: Yakult Probiotic Drinks (a.k.a the "Korean Yogurt Smoothies") saw a surge of sales in the West after the release of the film.
