- Channel Hop: Since the post-1974 Rankin/Bass library wound up with Warner Bros., that meant Warner Bros. Animation handled A Miser Brothers Christmas.
- Covers Always Lie: The DVD cover show's Santa's sleigh apparently being pulled by Rudolph, who doesn't actually appear in this special.
- Edited for Syndication: For many years, there were several cuts in ABC Family/Freeform airings; these cuts were very innocuous and didn't affect the overall plot (mainly dialogue from the Miser Brothers that fleshed their characters out). When AMC acquired the rights in 2018, these cuts were reverted.
- The Other Darrin: George S. Irving and Mickey Rooney reprise their roles as Heat Miser and Santa Claus respectively in the sequel A Miser Brothers Christmas, but Snow Miser and Mrs. Claus were played by Juan Chioran and Catherine Disher respectively because their original actors (Dick Shawn and Shirley Booth) died. In addition, Patricia Hamilton replaces Rhoda Mann as the voice of Mother Nature.
- Recycled Script: A lot of the Miser Brothers' dialogue in the live-action NBC remake is copied word-for-word from their dialogue in the original 1974 special.
- Role Reprise:
- Mickey Rooney reprises his role as Santa Claus from Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town.
- John Goodman reprises his role as Santa Claus from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1998), albeit physically playing him this time around.
- George S. Irving and Mickey Rooney reprised their respective roles as Heat Miser and Santa Claus in the sequel A Miser Brothers Christmas. It would be the last time both of them did so. Rhoda Mann was still alive at the time and could have reprised Mother Nature, but did not. It's unclear why she didn't. One reason might be that she hadn't acted in anything for decades and was comfortably retired, but it could also be because the character was radically redesigned.
