• Troubled Production: In addition to Rita Hayworth struggling to remember her lines as an early sign of Alzheimer's disease; Ken Hutchinson (playing Emmet Keogh) ended up badly injured when he cut himself on broken glass, opening a gash spreading from his wrist to his elbow and Dorothy Spence, wife of lead actor Robert Mitchum, having to apply a tourniquet to his arm to stop the bleeding. As a result, and given the size of Hutchinson's role, the insurance company shut down production to allow him to heal, though Hutchinson was unable to do anything strenuous once he was able to return while his arm was kept covered.
