• What Could Have Been: As part of the cancellation notice, the author shared several plot details of what had been planned had the story continued:
  • There would have been a Final Battle between Luke's forces and the Imperial diehards, during which Thrawn would have had a chance to shine.
  • The galaxy would be divided between the New Republic and the Empire, with the latter becoming a constitutional monarchy over time.
  • Luke would establish the Imperial Knights to act as a check against potential corruption by himself or future Emperors. Leia, meanwhile, would found the New Jedi Order.
  • Luke and Mara would part on good terms, with the potential for a Relationship Upgrade down the line.
