  • Accidentally-Correct Writing:
    • Possibly, or possibly Shown Their Work. In "Gallon of PCP", Trevor "didn't even know [PCP] came in liquid form," to which Zach replies, "Science." Liquid PCP does in fact exist, and is yellowish as shown in the show.
    • There actually is Kid Beer in Japan, but it's really just super-fizzy apple juice, similar to Martinelli's sparkling apple cider.
  • Corpsing: In the sketch "The Most Loveliest Bride," one of the women in the background starts laughing at Sam's screaming and eating popcorn, hiding her face.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Zach doesn't even bother to make his voice higher sometimes. The other guys put on a realistic, feminine voice or a goofy falsetto depending on the episode.
  • The Danza: Sketches that do not logically require a different name (usually either historical or female characters) have a very high chance of them just using their normal names.
  • Defictionalization:
  • Died During Production: While raising money for their upcoming film, Mars, Trevor Moore got incredibly drunk at his home on the night of August 7, 2021, and jumped off his upstairs balcony and wound up dying from a head injury. Authorities ruled it an accident (rather than a deliberate suicide). Zach Cregger stated that the troupe was going to use the money made from Mars (for which Trevor had already recorded his lines) to fund the troupe's next film, but claimed it would be "impossible" without Trevor.
  • Executive Meddling: According to the "Talk About" video on the sketch, IFC initially objected to the inclusion of the minute and a half-long trumpet solo at the end of "Hippo in the City", as they believed the combination of the shot remaining on the dead hippo in the river and the sudden trumpet music would make viewers think the channel was experiencing technical difficulties.
  • Recycled Script: The sketches "Wheel of Money" from season 3 and "Planet Earth Choke" from the following season are the essentially the same sketch. Both skits involved a filming of a pilot for a TV show going horribly wrong and ending with the deaths of most of the show crew. Then, despite this, the footage makes its way to two studio execs (played in both sketches by Zach and Trevor), who after watching, one comments that the show was "fucking metal" and the other greenlights the show, only to to go back on that decision because the other one points out that everyone involved in the making of the show are dead. The two then go to lunch.
