Trivia / The Sarah Jane Adventures, S5 E5&E6: "The Man Who Never Was"

Go To

  • Deleted Scene: The departure of the Skullions was edited to remove Plark warning Sky of something hiding inside her, trying to break free. This had been intended to foreshadow the season's climactic revelation that Sky was really the daughter of Sarah Jane's old nemesis, the Trickster, but was now unnecessary since the rest of this story arc could never be recorded.
  • Dolled-Up Installment: Russell T Davies drew upon a rejected submission for Bugs.
  • Fake American: The Irish Mark Aiken as Joseph Serf.
  • Surprisingly Lenient Censor: Luke sends a Morse code message that told "Clani" to grab Harrison's pen. Clyde stated he was never more glad to see a full stop. Gareth Roberts even tweeted how surprised he was that it got through.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original climax would have seen the Light Sculptors create a hologram of the character who became John Harrison, who would confess to thousands of health and safety violations to the police, leading to the arrest of the real Harrison. The dying billionaire would then realise that he was just a construct before deactivating.
    • Early drafts included a security guard at Serf Systems named Byers, who was revealed to be in cahoots with Harrison.
    • The E-Panel was originally named Z-65 and then the Serf Board. The Skullions were originally named Light Sculptors, with their leader originally named Skrull and then Plark.
