Trivia / The Sarah Jane Adventures, S5 E3&E4: "The Curse of Clyde Langer"

• Awesome, Dear Boy: Sara Houghton was pleased to be getting involved in the world of Doctor Who, as her father had written Inferno and The Mind of Evil for the classic series, while her mother had appeared in the latter.
• Deleted Scene:
  • A significant edit involved the sequence of Clyde and Ellie panhandling in episode two. In the excised material, Rani emerged from the nearby supermarket and tossed Ellie some coins without noticing her companion. She and Haresh then drove off while Clyde told Ellie that Rani was no longer somebody he knew.
  • After Clyde claims his name is "Enrico Box", he tells Ellie that she can call him "Rico". This explains why Ellie called Clyde "Rico" a few times in the episode.
• Edited for Syndication: In order for the episode to be put on iPlayer, the creators had to edit out all references to the totem’s place of origin (the problems with which can be found on the main page under Artistic License – Religion) to avoid offence. Luckily, Doctor Who’s current (as of 2023) post-production manager was the editor for the episode and still possessed the raw files, making the cuts near seamless.
