  • Artist Disillusionment: Thorn went through this with abridging and abridgers throughout 2012, leading her to end contact with many other abridgers, and after a year of being mildly depressed she finally decided not to continue SFA beyond Season 2. She was noticeably more bitter during the beginning-of-the-year podcasts than she was during the SFA finale podcast, which was around the point where she pulled herself out of it. She brought back SFA shortly after.
  • Creator Backlash: Yoshi and Thorn are mostly unhappy with their first year or so's worth of videos, including early SFA episodes and their early Pokemon one-shots.
  • DVD Commentary: They have commentary videos for all of SFA seasons 1-3 (though the first three episode commentaries are the retconned episodes), and their first two Pokemon one-shots. They also held livestreams in early 2020 where they watched all of SFA Seasons 1-2, then later Season 3 and all of their side-projects.
  • Old Shame: To Thorn and Yoshi:
    • "Tamama's Titties", the team's first song parody that was written and recorded before SFA began. They originally forgot to release it anywhere, but they thought it was so poor that they might as well not; in 2013 Yoshi outright told Thorn not to upload it, be she eventually did in 2014 for her archive channel.
    • The Fatman-era podcast, Fatty Time, which had the trio arguing often and behaving in ways they would regret later. Yoshi described the show as, "Imagine a podcast for nobody." The first year of TheMidnightFrogs Podcasts that came after were awkward and uncomfortable in much the same way as well.
  • The Pete Best:
    • DFatman: team co-founder, writer, and the original voice of Giroro and Saburo. Thorn replaced him as Giroro, and then he was fired during the delay between SFA1R and 2R. His firing is the reason Saburo is mute.
    • GhostTC: team member at founding, and the original voice of Kululu. He left after Best Wishes Abridged and was replaced by InfamousGentleman.
    • By the end of Season 1, no voice actor from the original January 2010 auditions was in the team, including the people who appeared on Fatty Time. Only Tiana remained from the voice actors added pre-SFA1R, and Thorn went directly to her to audition her rather than her sending one in.
  • Promoted Fanboy:
    • Teddy, a young friend and fanboy of the team, was made official team artist in December 2011 and drew the artwork that made up Giroro & Dororo's wedding in SFA Episode 15, and later the team logo from November 2013 - present.
    • JigglyJacob (AKA: TheSmashBro in the early years), a fanboy then-known for making his own Sgt Frog abridged series inspired by SFA, was inducted as a team member after SFA: Reset for his voice acting as HQ. He also became a recurring co-writer starting with Episode 22, eventually becoming one of the co-leads of the team with Thorn and Yoshi.
    • SpeedJolt was a big fan of the team since the early years before he voiced Shivava in The SFA Movie.
  • Saved from Development Hell: Tamers Abridged. Writing progress was at a snail's pace after brainstorming began in November 2012 through to the idea being canned in early 2013. Thorn and InfamousGentleman revived it in October 2013 and finished the script on the 25th.
  • Trolling Creator:
    • Several people wanted a second episode of Other People's Wedding Videos Abridged, despite it being an April Fools' Day joke. When April Fool's 2014 rolled around and Thorn uploaded SAHNIK, she originally titled it Other Peoples' Wedding Videos Abridged - Episode 2. She changed it to the correct title the next day, long enough to allow for a few confused comments. The team pulled the same joke in 2021 with the sequel, KAYAK, released at first with the title Other Peoples' Wedding Videos Abridged - Episode 3: Crocodile Rock.
    • The team held a livestream on January 5, 2020, where they watched all of SFA seasons 1 and 2, with the pretense that it was only to celebrate the team's 10th anniversary. Multiple people in the chat lamented that they were done with abridging and would never finish the SFA movie, and the team agreed and played along. Then Thorn secretly aired the trailer for the movie at the end of the stream, with none of the team hinting that such a thing would happen in the entire previous five hours.
