• Box Office Bomb: Budget, $80 million. Box office, $40,170,558.
• Creator Killer: This was Oliver Hirschbiegel's first film after the acclaimed Downfall. The troubled production and poor reception helped mark an end to his career as soon as it started, however he did have a small Career Resurrection following 13 Minutes, another film similar to Downfall.
• Executive Meddling: The film had a particularly bad case of this. The original director Oliver Hirschbiegel turned in a cut that was, like the previous versions, a psychological thriller. The studio wanted an action flick however, and hired the Wachowskis to rewrite and James McTeigue to reshoot the entire third act.
• Uncredited Role: James McTeigue went uncredited as co-director.
