- Completely Different Title: First movie:
- Original title: The Non-Stop Way
- English-speaking countries: Infernal Affairs
- Greece: The Man of Law
- Iran: Evil Deeds
- Portugal: Infiltrated
- Spain: Dirty Game
- Turkey: Dirty Jobs
- Vietnam: No Way
- The Danza: Andy Lau as Lau Kin Ming and Anthony Wong as Wong Chi Shing.
- Ensemble Cast: The pre-release hype of the first film was generated by this, where the main casts are Hong Kong's A-list celebrities.
- Playing Against Type: All over the place:
- Eric Tsang is the most obvious example, as he was a well known comedy star and a TV game show host before he portrayed the triad boss Hon Sam.
- Anthony Wong, on the other hand, is known for sinister roles like gangsters and serial killers. He plays a senior police superintendent.
- Andy Lau is typically cast in protagonist roles, making him very believable as a cop - only so he can be an undercover gangster.
- Tony Leung Chiu-wai was mostly known for quiet and peaceful characters (for example in various films by Wong Kar-wai), so the relatively aggressive nature of Yan in some places also serves as an example.
- Francis Ng portrays Ngai Wing-hau, a soft-spoken and family-oriented mob boss in the second film, a stark contrast to the Ax-Crazy, brash and hot-headed Ugly Kwan which he's famous for.
