• Non-Singing Voice: The Adult Zeke in the framing scenes is played by Daveed Diggs but his vocals are dubbed by Nas. A strange example as Diggs is a very skilled rapper in his own right.
• Troubled Production: The show went massively over-budget due to its Development Hell, its music and dance scenes, the cost of licensing its Nothing but Hits soundtrack, and Baz Luhrmann's inexperience working in television, such that it wound up costing $120 million and getting nicknamed "The Shut Down". This was a big part of why, despite widespread acclaim, it became the first show that Netflix ever canceled after just one season.
• Word of Gay: Dizzee's bisexuality was confirmed by the creator on his Twitter account, before part 2 was released.
