- Sequel Gap: The Fragile was released over five years after The Downward Spiral.
- Throw It In!: The album cover wasn't supposed to look the way the final version is. It was originally just a normal picture of a waterfall (specifically, the Öxarárfoss waterfall in Iceland) with the band's logo on it, but it got mixed with what was supposed to be the album's back cover, a close-up of the inside of a seashell. Trent liked the latter photo so much that he decided that it should be in the main cover art.
