  • Avoid the Dreaded G Rating: A single Precision F-Strike, a handful of smaller epithets, and minor indications of drinking and smoking (period appropriate for the 1950s) are the only reasons this movie would fall outside a G-rating. The film is otherwise so clean you could eat a Big Mac off it.
  • California Doubling: While set in San Bernardino in the 1950s and 1960s, filming primarily took place in Newnan and Douglasville, Georgia while Albuquerque, New Mexico stood in for the desert areas of the San Bernardino area.
  • Casting Gag:
    • In the Mexican Spanish dub, Ray Kroc is voiced by René García, who already voiced someone who tries to con people, except with pawpsicles rather than burgers, and it's not the first time he has to deal with a Burger Fool before.
    • This isn't the first time that B.J. Novak has played an ambitious young man who's found himself promoted to a senior corporate role and involved in a major business restructuring, though suffice to say that Harry Sonneborn was a lot more competent and successful at it than Ryan Howard was.
  • Dyeing for Your Art: Nick Offerman shaved off his distinctive facial hair to play Dick McDonald.
  • Playing Against Type: Nick Offerman is best known for playing a grumpy Jerk with a Heart of Gold who may engage in amoral actions without thinking of the consequences. As Dick McDonald, he is a grump without the jerk part, as shown when he gives a kid a hamburger and soda free of charge despite their restaurant being closed. He takes all the phone calls from Ray, expressly forbidding Mac to respond and risk another diabetic shock as their relationship gets icier. Dick is also the brother who has experience with logistics and mathematics, as shown with his interactive tennis court diagram of the potential restaurant. Viewers mainly know Nick Offerman for his craftsmanship with wood and interior design.
  • Release Date Change: Moved from August 5, 2016 to December of the same year. This was done for the purposes of having the movie open near awards season and to avoid competition with Suicide Squad.
  • What Could Have Been: Tom Hanks was offered the role of Ray Kroc, but turned it down and Michael Keaton was cast. Incidentally, this is a reverse of what happened with Philadelphia, where Keaton turned down the role that was taken by Hanks.
