• Ray learns of McDonald's when June tells him that they've ordered six milkshake mixers, an unusual amount for a drive-in. He calls Dick to ask if he made a mistake, and Dick says, yes, he did make a mistake. He needs eight mixers, not six.
• Ray's bewilderment when he first visits McDonald's. Just as he gets his change, his food is ready to his complete bafflement:
  Cashier: Here you are.
  Ray: What's this?
  Cashier: Your food!
  Ray: No, no, I just ordered.
  Cashier: And now it's here!
  Ray: [confused] You sure? All right...where are the silverware and plates?
  Cashier: You just eat it out of the wrapper and throw it all out.
  Ray: [takes the food but still confused] Where do I eat it?
  Cashier: [now equally confused] In your car? At the park? At home? Wherever you like!
  • Followed by Ray sitting down and observing everyone around him eating their food out of their bags and wrappers in a completely foreign fashion.
• Dick and Mac describing how their first two attempts to relaunch McDonald's were complete disasters.
  • The first time, customers were bewildered by the fact that there were no carhops to deliver food, and that they had to get up and order. One man appears uncomfortable as he tries to eat from the paper wrapper.
  • The second time, Mac decides to throw a grand reopening party. There's spotlights and a juggler for the kids. Everyone's having a great time...until flies start getting attracted to the lights, forcing everyone to flee.
