Trivia / The Daily Object Show

Go To

  • Descended Creator: FusionAnimations does basically everything for the show, writing, animating, (most of the) voice acting, you name it!
  • Follow the Leader: Since January 2021, there has been a steady stream of speed-run Object Shows (or really, really long ones as parodies) enough for its own sub-genre in the OSC thanks to The Daily Object Show. These shows have taken many elements unique to TDOS, like its short run-time and humor, and slap on the title "The [insert time here] Object Show". However, they don't outright plagiarize the show since the Denser and Wackier nature put them firmly into "Joke Show" territory.
  • The Other Darrin: Box's voice actor, like many others, was Fusion until his father took over the role in "Fear Me".
  • Schedule Slip: Of course, some episodes have been released at least a few hours after one day has been lapsed from the previous episode. The biggest offender, however, is Season 7, with Episode 3, released 11 days after Episode 2, and Episode 4, released 21 days after.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • An unfinished Stinger (audio-only) from "Tower of Evil" would have Evil Computer falling into a nuclear power plant and becoming Kaiju-sized in the process. Fusion scrapped that since it would've been difficult to animate and incorporate into the storyline.
    • There were suppose to be 10 contestants in "The Daily Dash" before Fusion added Sketchpad and Hal post-production
    • Mysterious Figure was supposed to kill the Daily Dash cast in "Attack of The Calcium Clones" before it was changed to them getting arrested by the police as Fusion thought it was unfair if they did that.
  • Word of God: According to FusionAnimations on Twitter and YouTube:
    • The Really Good Smelling Lotion was invented by someone really smart and was tired of all the lotion smelling bad. We would see the inventor at some point in the show.
    • The Super Objects, debuted in "Tale of the Mountain" but never really expanded on, were the first objects to have ever existed and the ones to bring objects into existence, basically the gods of the TDOS universe. And while they aren't around anymore, they gave objects their own power to create life which would be later explained in the series.
    • Fusion plans on telling the overarching story started in season 1 over the course of 6 seasons (later renewed for 8) and also clarified that it wouldn't be the last season as he has other stories to tell after the current arc has ended.
    • There would possibly be a season about the eliminated contestants' time trapped inside Computer during the competition seasons.
    • Also in the realm of possibility, Fusion tweeted (rather jokingly) for there to be Italian gangsters out for Computer's life as future villains. He later confirmed a planned storyline on the same idea for season 6 if there isn't another "Real Life Battle" season.
    • Some future competition seasons would entirely be live-action with the writing and voice-acting still present but not the animation.
  • Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: An extreme example since Fusion not only has to write but also design and animate the episodes the day before its release. Keep in mind the episodes each season are uploaded consecutively.
  • Write What You Know:
    • Computer's design is inspired by Fusion's real-life computer monitor as we get to see in Real Life Battle. The only difference is the rainbow LEDs are on the front, not the sides.
