• What Could Have Been: Neil Jordan directed and co-wrote The Company of Wolves, which is based upon some of the stories in this book, with Angela Carter also contributing to the screenplay. Jordan and Carter had discussed working together to adapt more stories from the anthology, in particular "The Lady in the House of Love", though this ultimately never came to pass, especially with Carter dying of lung cancer in 1992.
