Trivia / The Black Scorpion

• Urban Legend of Zelda: It's a common stated "fact" that some of the giant creepy-crawlies featured in the film besides the scorpions were recycled props from the infamous lost "Spider Pit" sequence from Willis O'Brien's earlier stop motion project, King Kong (1933). While it isn't impossible some of the designs were based on the cut sequence from the '33 film, surviving pictures of the Kong bug props don't match those in this film. Given the over 20 years production time between movies, the armatures for the Kong props would have badly decayed by the 1950s anyways.
