• Creator Backlash: Inverted. His time in the stable was the only thing Billy Gunn didn't have this about his TNA run.
• Breakup Breakout: All of them have had relatively successful careers but Lacey Von Erich can count as the Jannetty as she did the least in pro wrestling before joining and retired from active competition soon after the group's first disbanding.
• Dye Hard: Velvet and Angelina are actually natural blondes but both bleached their hair, Angelina to platinum blonde and Velvet to a two-toned style when they formed The Beautiful People. Velvet can actually be seen with platinum blonde hair on a pre-TNA appearance on WWE Heat. Their fellow tag team partner Madison Rayne is naturally blonde also and bleached her hair when she joined them before changing to brunette since late 2010. Madison then switched to redhead after her daughter was born.
• Older Than They Think: While TBP were the first to use such a gimmick on mainstream television, the act was preceded by Team Blondage on the indies - which formed shortly after Mean Girls came out. The Minnesota-later International Home Wrecking Crew was not quite as similar, predating Mean Girls, but worth mentioning since Payton Banks was in TNA.
• Real Life Writes the Plot: Angelina's visa issues cut off her momentum completely in 2009. The Beautiful People advanced to the finals of the Knockouts Tag Team title tournament, Angelina was suddenly released, and Madison Rayne had to sub for her in the eventual match. This effectively wrote an entire year's worth of storyline for Angelina in 2010 when she returned.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The third Knockout for the stable was intended for Krissy Vaine (one of the original members of Team Blondage mentioned above, and one of Angelina's good friends in real life). But Krissy was not interested in wrestling on TV at the time, and the spot went to Madison Rayne instead.
  • The team's initial name was 'Velvet-Love Entertainment' to make the porn star comparisons even more obvious. They were opposed to the name change at first but grew to love it.
