- Line to God: Cope's Tumblr account, TyrantisTerror, is quite active, and anyone can ask him about his works there.
- What Could Have Been: The story was originally going to be in the modern day and/or distant future, with more elements of Resident Evil and Jurassic Park.
- The format was once going to be a series of short films.
- Dr. Lerna was going to be male (and in the short film draft, played by Cope himself), and a Mad Scientist who makes most of the monsters via genetic engineering. One of them would be a seven-headed snake named Hydra, as in "Lernean hydra". The snake would be reworked into Gorgolisk.
- Gwen originally had a much smaller role, but this was changed during the writing process.
- Clark was once a complete Expy of Albert Wesker, but all that remains of this is his habit of wearing sunglasses indoors.
- Ahuul's name went through several changes. Previous names were Kongamatu, Wendigo, Ahool, and Ahul. He was also nowhere near as nasty in early drafts.
- The final battle of Volume 2 went through at least three different outlines.
- Either Promythigor or MechaTyrantis were going to die in the final battle, but Cope decided to let them live for redemption.
- Dorazor and the Great Beyonder almost weren't in the story, but Cope found a way to make their lack of presence a sort of joke by having them each be an Anti-Climax Boss.
- Write Who You Know: Cope admits to getting Dr. Rockwell's name from a sophomore college room-mate he knew. According to him, he was a nice guy, but his name was too good to pass up on.
