  • The Other Darrin: Ian Sinclair replaced Jim Foronda as the narrator in the first pool episode due to the latter suffering from flu. It was lampshaded as well.
  • Portmanteau Series Nickname: "100カノ" / "Hyakkano", from Hyaku Kanojo ("100 Girlfriends").
  • Referenced by...:
    • Komi Can't Communicate, albeit not by name. In Chapter 316, Sanjuurokurou (who mistakenly believes that both Hitomi and Katai's sister are in love with him) decides that since he can't choose one or the other, the best thing to do is start dating both, just like in the manga he's been reading lately.
    • In Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle Chapter 356, among the forces sent to get Quilladillo back is the Princessbot Mark III, equipped with underground assault units, a.k.a. 100 Syalis, a.k.a. The 100 Hostages Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love Quilly.
    • In Soara and The Monsters' House, Baldur the thunder wolf and Maribel the mermaid experienced the soulmate shock when they made eye contact with each other.
  • Trolling Creator: Chapter 149 ended with the caption "Next time, the rumored songstress" which led lots of fans to believe the Newbie Idol of the Eating Contest arc would be the next girlfriend, as she's been one of the most popular proposals for a new girlfriend for a while. Then the following chapter was released and the songstress ended up being a completely new, different character.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Prototype designs for Rentarou experimented with having him be a redhead.
    • Hakari and Shizuka originally looked very different.
    • Early cover sketches for the tankobons had different numbers of characters for the main cover format (one, three or four characters a cover). The final cover format has two characters for each cover (with Kusuri's dual forms counting as two).
    • One design for adult Yaku had her with a bob cut rather than a ponytail.
    • This Comic Natalie interview with Nakamura and Aka Akasaka (the scanlators provided a translation with Chapters 160 and 161) reveals that Hahari was originally envisioned as just an antagonist, with an older sister of Hakari becoming a girlfriend instead. The author and artist then realized that would reduce the screen time of the existing heroines during Hakari's rescue arc, so they decided to consolidate the antagonist and girlfriend roles in the mother.
      • The interview also reveals that as of that point (shortly after Matsuri's introduction), the author and artist had diverged considerably from the initial concepts for the girls, having found that when it came to implementing the concepts there was a good degree of overlap between them, although what the concepts were isn't specified.
