• Friday Night Death Slot: Literally; it launched on Sunday nights in January of 1980, but most of the final five episodes aired on Friday nights in early summer after ABC put the show on hiatus at the end of March, even though it did well enough in the ratings to rank 29th for the 1979-80 season. Having the disaster that was Galactica 1980 as its lead-in and competing against Archie Bunker's Place and One Day at a Time (1975) on CBS was apparently too much to overcome.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: The Pilot Movie is owned by Paramount; CBS DVD released it as a standalone DVD that is now out of print. The current rights holder for the rest of the series, Shout! Factory, cannot release or stream it along with the other episodes because of this.
