• Dawson Casting: Dawn is a teenager, and Jess Weixler was 26 when the film was released.
• Not What It Looks Like: In a meta-example, the first scene of the film (in which little Brad plays "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" with little Dawn) had some people in the neighborhood where it was being shot protesting because they thought it was some kind of setup scene for a pornographic movie; for which it's difficult to fault them, considering that the actual story does play out something like a pornographic movie... albeit one Gone Horribly Wrong.
