• Author's Saving Throw: Officially, Johnson has said that the restoration of Clark and Jon's secret identities was done to restore various tropes lost by the revelation, feeling that there was something lost in the revelation, such as the love story that is Lois and Clark. Unofficially, quite a few fans think that this was to undo the change as the revelation was meant to tie into the aborted "Generation Five" plan and with that not happening, there was no need for it.
• What Could Have Been: Johnson has revealed that originally he had planned to kill off Otho-Ra in the issue where the Super-Twins meet Mongul in-person. Mongul would have killed her to punish Superman for preaching rebellion against the Warzoon lifestyle. Johnson felt this made the story too dark and chose to have her survive the events of The Warworld Saga instead.
• Word of God: Johnson has said that the Warworld Saga draws on his time in an anti-trafficking unit when it comes to Mongul, the Phaelosians, and the Warzoons.
