- How strong is a "weakened" Superman? Strong enough to take on an Atlantean who has been transformed into a kaiju monster from the inside.
- Even after his defeat at Mongul's hands, Superman holds on to his moral code during his time as a gladiator slave in Warworld's arenas. He protects those weaker than him, and refuses to kill his opponents despite the jeers of the crowd. Eventually he's able to win over many Warzoon spectators to the point "The Unblooded Blade" becomes a title afforded respect rather than an insult.

- Mongul is a character who has suffered from years of Villain Decay. Rebirth had him turned into a punchline, slapped around with contempt by Cyborg Superman and Zod. Finally the previous incarnation of Mongul got killed off and replaced by his son, who has stepped up to redeem the title by reminding readers why "Mongul" was once considered one of Superman's deadliest foes. The new Mongul has the brains and brawn to defeat Superman and his team, the charisma to lead a team of his own to victory, and the ambition to set his sights on ruling more than just Warworld. For the first time in ages, Mongul is a villain to be feared once more.
- Bibbo proves why he's Sooperman's Pal by being willing to charge into battle against Kalibak to protect his fellow citizens.
- Superman has learned to channel the power of Genesis thanks to his time on Warworld, and uses that power to curbstomp Metallo and save the Super-Twins
- Cyborg Superman tries to mock Metallo for always being used, and for trying to act human when he's nothing more than a weapon. Metallo responds by telling Henshaw he knows what he is, then ripping Henshaw in half.
