Trivia / Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Mark Hamill voices both the Alchemist and Skeleton King.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: According to an interview with a fan of the series, Ciro Nieli revealed that some of his favorite episodes to work on were "Thingy", "Wonder Fun Meat World", "I, Chiro", "Season of the Skull", "A Ghost in the Machinder", "The Stranded Seven", "Secret Society", and "Golden Age".
  • Crossdressing Voices: Chiro is voiced by a woman in the Greek (Voula Kosta), Japanese (Rika Matsumoto), and Polish (Brygida Turowska) dubs.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Like most Disney animated series, this show has had extremely few releases and doesn't have reruns.
    • 2 episodes were on a Game Boy Advance Video Pak.
    • Seasons 1 and 2 have been announced to be available for streaming on Disney+ in July 2020. This turned out to be inaccurate as all four seasons were presented as two seasons with twenty-six episodes each.
    • Currently as of this writing (2022), only a handful of this series' dubs have been officially released on Disney+.note  The rest of them survive on YouTube and other video sites in varying degrees of quality and availability. Oddly, Disney+ has subtitles for certain languages but not their audio tracks.
  • Referenced by...: A toy of Sparx can briefly be seen on a tabletop amongst other thingamabobs in the official music video for "Face Down" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
  • Screwed by the Network: Was meant to have a fifth season to properly close out the series, but Disney didn't feel it was getting enough views to justify it and promptly axed the series then and there, leaving the show on a major cliffhanger.
  • Throw It In!: According to Ciro Nieli, Gibson having a British accent was Tom Kenny's idea, as a way to make him sound smarter. They all loved it so much, they kept it in.
  • What Could Have Been: Early pitch materials had numerous major differences from what was eventually in the show proper. A few examples include:
    • The title uses the word "Ultra" instead of "Hyper".
    • The monkeys didn't yet have their names, and were only referred to by their colors.
    • Antauri was the leader of the Monkey Team, and Chiro was instead a younger Tagalong Kid.
    • Roles and personality traits being swapped around. For example, early Nova was said to "try her best to be sweet, gentile, and peaceful", whereas the final Nova more boisterous.
    • The city of Shuggazoom was instead called Pachinko Town, and appears to be set on a futuristic Earth.
    • The Super Robot had no weaponry of its own, and resorted to fisticuffs rather than the final version's missiles and lasers.
