• Urban Legend of Zelda:
  • Some fans believe Mike is really Balrog, or M. Bison as he is called in Japan, since the "M." in M. Bison stands for Mike. However, Capcom has stated that the two are indeed separate people, and when Mike was redesigned for Street Fighter V supplemental material, the similarity between the two was brought up, and shot down by the fact that Mike is actually a Nice Guy and a Reformed Criminal.
  • Rumor has it that Joe was going to appear in Street Fighter Alpha 3 but was replaced by Cody at the last minute. There's also the rumor that The Ghost, a kickboxer in Final Fight: Streetwise, is supposed to be him. Joe's CFN entry mentions him turning to violent crime in order to pay off debts, so it's not only possible that Cody replaced Joe, but Joe was also going to be an escaped prisoner.
• What Could Have Been: A version for the Nintendo Entertainment System was announced, and a screenshot exists, so it at least got as far as the prototype stage before getting the axe. If the comments left about it in the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection are anything to go by, not even Capcom themselves know if this unreleased port still exists.
