- Approval of God: George Lucas loved the comics, to the point he included Aayla Secura in Attack of the Clones and a cameo of Tsu Choi in Revenge of the Sith (he also tried to do the same with Quinlan Vos, but he ended up only being briefly mentioned by Obi-Wan in the final film).
- Refitted for Sequel: Jango mentions a bounty hunter named Montross. Montross Holdaack was a character from the first drafts of A New Hope, where he was the third crewman of the Millennium Falcon along with Han and Chewie.
- Surprisingly Lenient Censor: There is a Jedi named Soon Bayts, or Master Bayts. Randy Stradley inserted him as a joke character in the Acts of War miniseries which preceded Republic and was surprised when the editor didn't seem to pick up on the pun.
- Testing the Editors: As a joke, Randy Stradley created a character called Soon Bayts in the comic because he knew that editor Sue Rostoni had a habit of going through scripts and changing every Jedi character's name to "Master [Surname]". He was surprised that the name made it to publication, as Rostoni didn't edit that issue.
