- Christmas Rushed: The game's release was rushed due to EA wanting it to tie-in with the release of The Force Awakens, which is evident from its barebones amount of content.
- Creator Backlash: John Boyega (Finn in The Force Awakens) wasn't impressed by the game's lack of content, especially the lack of an offline story mode.
- The Other Darrin:
- Luke, Han, and Leia are all voiced by different actors than their film actors (Anthony Hansen, John Armstrong, and Misty Lee, respectively).
- Felicity Jones and Ben Mendelsohn were not brought in to reprise their roles as Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic from Rogue One.
- Laurence Bréheret replaced Evelyne Séléna (Original Trilogy) as Leia in the European French dub.
- Pre-Order Bonus: Pre-orders came with the Battle of Jakku a week before the Jakku maps went public.
- Role Reprise: Many of the voice actors for the movie characters reprise their roles from the films, video games, or cartoons.
- Matt Sloan is usually the go-to voice for Vader outside of the films (wheres he's voiced by James Earl Jones).
- Sam Witwer is becoming the go-to voice for Emperor Palpatine after first taking the role in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and recently playing the character in Star Wars Rebels.
- Temuera Morrison plays Boba Fett, a role he had taken over from Jason Wingreen (who passed away in early 2016) for a special edition of The Empire Strikes Back.
- Admiral Ackbar is voiced by Tom Kane, who has voiced the character in several spin-offs.
- Jabba the Hutt is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, who among other places voiced the big guy in The Clone Wars.
- Lando is voiced by Billy Dee Williams again.
- Dengar and Bossk are voiced by Simon Pegg and Dee Bradley Baker, respectively, who voiced them in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
- Screwed by the Lawyers: According to this article, Disney/Lucasfilm gave EA the explicit rule to not screw with Star Wars canon, hence why multiplayer is simply a sandbox of characters that should be dead (like Vader and Palpatine in the Jakku maps or Greedo in any maps considering Han is with the rebellion) or reenactments of events already passed like the Battles of Yavin and Scarif. After heavy criticism, the sequel is being made with a canon storyline about Inferno Squadron and content from all three film eras.
- What Could Have Been: A long-anticipated game mode called "Hero Blast" was discovered in the code for the game, in which players could participate in a match of "Blast" using solely the Heroes and Villains. Though an uncovered still for the game mode suggests it was planned to be released with the "Rogue One: Scarif" DLC, it ultimately never saw the light of day during the game's DLC season.
- Working Title: According to a datamine, it's "White Shark".
