Trivia / Star Trek: Deep Space Nine S7 E24 “The Dogs of War”

• Acting for Two: Jeffrey Combs plays both Brunt and Weyoun in this episode, though they don't actually share screen time. This is the only time in the franchise in which a guest star appears as two completely different and unconnected characters in the same episode (i.e. barring imposters, holograms, Prophet visions, face-stealing, etc.) — unless you count Majel Barrett playing both Lwaxana Troi and the computer voice in various episodes.
• Deleted Scene: Kira, Damar and Garak get drunk in Enabran Tain's basement. The tail end of the sequence is still in the episode, seen when Kira is lying down, playing with an empty bottle.
• Recycled Set: The Sao Paulo Bridge is obviously still the existing Defiant Bridge set, albeit tweaked and updated (new carpeting, different consoles) to show this is now a completely new vessel. In-universe, it also shows the changes Starfleet has made to the original Defiant template now that the ship class has gone into wide-scale production.
• Wag the Director: The writers had always intended to have Rom become the new Nagus, but Armin Shimerman and Max Grodénchik objected that such a thing would be possible in the current Ferengi culture. Hence, the revelation of new social reforms from Ishka.
