- DVD extras reveal that the British licensee attempted to buy the puppets and models from the Japanese production company with a view to making a sequel, only to discover that they had been mostly destroyed in a storage warehouse fire. The second series wouldn't have been a continuation, but a mirror universe retelling of the story with Lamia as the villain and Makara as the hero.
- Go Nagai has mentioned in interviews that if the show had more of a budget and episode run, there would have been an Evil Counterpart to the Dai-X as well as more scenes featuring the robot in general.
