Trivia / Stan Frederick

Go To

  • Acting For Five: Valeria Santiago takes on acting duty for Stan, the Slender Man (at least in Season 1), the Rake, and "Lines"/Connor. In Season 3, they also portray Teacher.
  • Colbert Bump: Being featured by Night Mind arguably helped the channel along its path to success and, arguably, the creation of this very trope page.
  • Creator Backlash: One of the main reasons that this series exists in the first place is because the creator was ultimately dissatisfied with "StanFrederickBTS" and wanted to get back in the game and put out a better effort.
  • The Danza: Stan's real name was, at the time, shared with the series' creator Evan Santiago. (However, they have since legally changed their name to Valeria.)
  • Deleted Role: As seen in What Could Have Been below, Noah Maxwell initially had a cameo in the third season that could be seen on the creator's Patreon page, but it was removed from the finalized product to avoid association with Adam Rosner.
  • Either/Or Title: Also known as "The Record of Stan Frederick".
  • Missing Episode: Originally, Stan was supposed to lose his memory to show how the Slender Man was able to get back into Stan's head. "Just Like the Old Days" was released in its place, and the concept was revisited in "All Work, No Play". This episode has since been uploaded by the creator under the title "Not Just a Headache".
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The removed footage of Evan and Serena visiting Firebrand/Noah Maxwell at his house from "Fiftieth Percent" can no longer be found anywhere on the internet, be it on Patreon or YouTube. This was enforced by series creator Evan Santiago, due to his extreme discomfort with the footage being seen by anyone in light of Adam Rosner's disgusting actions.
  • The Original Darrin: Due to conflicts, Sasha Blend (Connor's original performer) could not appear in Season 2, but returned in the final episode of Season 3 for a flashback.
  • Throw It In!: The in-universe explanation for Stan's Twitter handle (StanFrederick0) is his allusion to his Puerto-Rican heritage, an answer that Valeria came up with on the spot after being asked by a fan.
    • Noah wasn't originally supposed to be in "Neighbors", but Adam Rosner offered to be in it just for kicks. Stan's 2017 birthday to Noah also fits in this department.
  • Unfinished Episode: Due to a hard drive malfunction a good amount of footage for Season 3 was lost and was never recovered. Valeria works around this by reading the scripts of the missing scenes.
  • What Could Have Been
    • Willow, the child Stan is helping in Season Two, was originally supposed to be a boy named Will, but was changed for the metaphor of the name being a bit too on-the-nose.
    • The Season 2 episode "Neighbors" was supposed to include appearances from Avery and Ellie of One Hundred Yard Stare. Valeria reached out to the actors on Facebook and Tumblr, but unfortunately the crossover never materialized.
    • The original name for "Film Student" was "Behind the Scenes", but it was changed for fear of being too Call-Back-heavy for a soft reboot.
    • On a Instagram story in late 2019, Lee Esposito revealed that he had planned a scene where in-game Lee would phone Stan back to ask him about info on the Rake like he had done in Indebted, only for Stan to refuse due to Lee not helping him previously. This ended up getting scrapped due to Whispered Faith's ending being drastically rewritten.
    • There was supposed to be a scene in "Fiftieth Percent" where Evan and Serena play Go Fish with Noah Maxwell in his house, but it was removed from the final product after the grooming and rape allegations against Adam Rosner became public. This scene, along with some appearances and credits from Adam behind-the-scenes could still be seen on Patreon, but Valeria has made it adamant that they won't be uploaded to the general public after Season 3 concludes. The footage itself is now permanently deleted, and cannot be found anywhere on the internet.
    • The first draft of Pit Stop actually did have Stan and Serena meet up with HABIT, where he would've attempted to decipher the symbol the former to travel between dimensions, before tensely telling him to get out of his house. It was later rewritten to have Vincent be the one to analyze the symbol instead because Evan Jennings was very particular about how HABIT was portrayed, and Valeria Santiago feeling that she couldn't do the character justice with what he had wrote. During a Trans Charity Livestream in 2023, Valeria Santiago read through the original script for fans to hear (starts at 3:20:20).
