No Export for You: The original Japanese version of Spiral Zone got some spin-offs that never appeared anywhere else, including a manga and a "hyper image" soundtrack album that was released by the local branch of Warner (Bros.) Records. Averted otherwise with the American show, which even got a full dub in Japanese (with some releases retaining the original theme).
Screwed by the Network: Several local stations in the US dropped the show after a few months due to disappointing ratings.
What Could Have Been: The Spiral Force promo initially called the Zone Riders as the Spiral Force and the Black Widows as Zone Commanders.
The Tonka toyline would have included toys for Katarina, Ned, Ben, Crook, Rawmeat, a BW Zone Generator, a Back Whip/Kopterpack/Stun Action Weapon Pack
Production:
J. Michael Straczynski wrote the pilot episode, "Mission Into Evil", then left the show after a dispute with the producers. "Mission Into Evil" was credited to the pseudonym "Fettes Gray".
