• Follow the Leader: Sony Pictures accused the Brothers Strause of trying to capitalize on their upcoming movie Battle: Los Angeles, which also features an alien invasion in L.A. Sounds like typical overreaction to Dueling Movies, right? Not as much when you consider the fact that some of the FX for Battle: Los Angeles was done by Hydraulx, a company owned by the Brothers Strause; Skyline's entire production timeline (from concept to completion) fitting entirely within the production schedule of BLA, and Skyline's scriptwriters both being Hydraulx FX technicians who had no prior screenwriting experience.
  • The following March, Sony dismissed the arbitration as, after discovery, they were satisfied that none of the effects made for Battle were used in Skyline. For their part the Brothers Strause simply said they were glad to put it all behind them.
