• Jarrod beating a drone to death with his bare hands.
• Oliver's Taking You with Me moment.
• The military nuking the mothership, even though it didn't work.
• The ending, Jarrod being killed and his brain being put into an alien war-machine, only for his Heroic Will Power to allow him to gain control of it, and seeing him finally start to turn the tables on the aliens. Him smashing through the wall to fight the other aliens and rescue his pregnant wife is a moment to cheer. Even better, the second film reveals this directly leads to humanity ultimately fighting back and defeating the aliens.
