• Feelies: In a deliberate throwback to Ultima, physical editions of the game were to come for backers with varying amounts of "swag", as Garriot likes to call it: a cloth map of the world, a runic script reference document, a metallic Collector Coin, etc. Majority of it never saw actual light.
• Stillborn Franchise: Shroud of the Avatar was pitched as five-game revival of the Ultima series during the early 2010s' Kickstarter boom, but Forsaken Virtues will likely remain its first and last installment, owing to a combination of creative indecision (is it a single-player Western RPG, an MMO, or something else?), Troubled Production (2013 to 2018), lukewarm reception by critics and the general public, and many of the senior staff leaving for other projects a year after its release.
