• Children Voicing Children: In the Japanese version, Shizuka was voiced by the then 11-year-old Mayu Iino.
• Cross-Dressing Voices: Akira, Hiromi (Masao's nephew), Susumu (Nao's son), Shigeki (Motoko's son) are all voiced by women.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Funimation's distribution rights for the anime have long since expired, and the anime is impossible to find on streaming services, such as Crunchyroll. Unless you get really lucky, the physical release is nigh-impossible to find.
• No Export for You: The original novels and the manga adaptation haven't been made available outside of Japan.
• Playing Against Type:
  • Todd Haberkorn, who's known for his heroic or cute and comical roles, provides the voice of Masao!
  • Cherami Leigh usually voices upbeat heroes that usually have a sense of justice. Here, she plays the Big Bad Sunako Kirishiki. However, in later years, this is amongst her typecasts.
• Star-Making Role:
  • Along with Banagher Links from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Kōki Uchiyama's role of Natsuno launched his voice acting career.
  • The dub also helped David Wald gain more recognition.
