The Other Darrin: Naturally, with the show being a Long Runner in the same way as its American counterpart, many characters have had voices and performers change over the years. Ernie and Bert in particular had several interim voice actors in between their most iconic German performers; Gerd Duwner (who voiced Ernie until his death in 1995) and Wolfgang Kieling (who voiced Bert until his death in 1985) and Carsten Morar-Haffke (Ernie) and Martin Paas (Bert), who have both performed the duo in new German segments and dubbed them in newer American segments since the mid-2000s.
