  • Approval of God: According to Seal, Steven Miller approved of his cover of "Fly Like An Eagle", and even personally called him up, and said his cover was the best one he had ever heard.
  • Breakthrough Hit: His participation as the featured artist for Adamski's "Killer" kickstarted his career, but it was his follow up single "Crazy" that became his true breakthrough, becoming his first US top ten hit.
  • Creator Breakdown: Life was not easy for him during the production of Human Being. It shows in the music, big time.
  • In Memoriam: The title track to his third album, Human Being, was inspired by and dedicated to Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. after their murders. The lyrics are a meditation on mortality.
  • The Shelf of Movie Languishment: His would-be fourth album Togetherland was never released because the label didn't like it. Only "This Could be Heaven" saw the light of day, and even then, that song was released with a recording that differs from the Togetherland version.
  • Shrug of God: The Genius page for "Kiss from a Rose" has an annotation from Seal himself regarding the song's meaning.
"I have avoided explaining these lyrics for over 25 years. I am not going to start doing it now."
