Trivia / Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Frank Welker is Fred, the giant turkey and one of the Babylonian Mummies.
    • Scott Innes is Scooby, Shaggy and one of the Babylonian Mummies.
    • Mary Kay Bergman is Daphne, the Witch's Ghost and several minor female characters.
  • Adored by the Network: Cartoon Network airs the movie often during October.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: Tim Curry considers the incantation to summon Sarah's ghost to be his single favourite line in his entire career.
  • Executive Meddling: The writers were warned to tone down their content, as the executives feared that Zombie Island was too scary for children. While Witch's Ghost lacks much of what made Zombie Island so notably dark (the massive body count, the graphic violence, and intense situations), it's still pretty dark for the franchise. Subsequent films would grow increasingly lighter.
  • First Appearance: Of all three Hex Girls (Thorn, Dusk, and Luna).
  • Non-Singing Voice: Averted for the Hex Girls' two on-stage songs: "Hex Girl" and "Earth, Wind, Fire, and Air". Both were performed by the three girls' voice actresses. Played straight during their credits song "The Witch's Ghost" as well as the rest of the "Hex Girls" songs from the official soundtrack, where a voice distinctly unlike Jennifer Hale is singing the lead.
  • The Other Darrin: Scott Innes (Scooby's voice actor at this point) replaced Billy West as Shaggy due to the latter's commitments on Futurama.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • According to this article ,a spin-off for The Hex Girls was considered, but was shot down.
    • The original twist was that the Witch's Ghost was entirely a hoax made up as a publicity stunt. This was deemed unsatisfactory, so an additional finale was added on with that ghost just being a hoax, but Ben summoning the real one with an Evil All Along twist.
