• Fake Nationality: Renato and Luca are the only Parondis whose actors are actually Italian. The rest are French (Alain Delon and Max Cartier) or Greek (Katina Paxinou and Spiros Focás). Nadia, Morini, and Luisa the laundry owner are all played by French actors as well.
• Romance on the Set: Renato Salvatori and Annie Girardot eloped during filming, got married, and had a child together. They remained together until Salvatori died in 1988.
• What Could Have Been: The role of Rocco was first offered to Horst Buchholz.
