- Directed by Cast Member: In the English dub, Tom Wyner was the ADR director and the voice of a Greeter in "Presence" and Chubby ("Daimaru" for sub watchers) in the third part of "A Tale of Two Robots".
- In Memoriam: The English localization was dedicated to Lisa Michelson, who died in a car crash after she finished recording her dialogue.
- No Export for You: For almost thirty years, the only legitimate copies of Robot Carnival in the West were copies of the Streamline Pictures VHS (which went out of print in the mid-Nineties), a Region 2 DVD (that had a similarly short lifespan on the shelves), and a laser disc release. Not until February 2015 did any company — Discotek Media, for the record — announce any intention of distributing it on R1 DVD.
- In 2018, Discotek also released a very nice Blu-ray of the movie, followed in 2021 by an 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, so it seems the curse has finally been lifted.
- Posthumous Credit: Lisa Michelson suffered a fatal car crash on September 14, 1991. Streamline released Robot Carnival on VHS shortly after her death.
