Trivia / Rhyme and Reason

For the Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers fanfic

  • Genre-Killer: Rhyme and Reason was the first CDRR fanfic, but it was also on the verge of becoming the last and only one of its kind due to intimidating aspiring writers with its sheer size and quality. The next CDRR fanfic didn't come out before 1997, and it proved that CDRR fanfic didn't have to follow in Rhyme and Reason's footsteps because it was nothing like Rhyme and Reason.

For the short-lived ABC game show:

  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Due to network policy of videotape wiping at the time, only the pilot is known to be on video, and the infamous finale only survives on audiotape.
  • Pop-Culture Urban Legends:
    • According to The Encyclopedia of TV Game Shows (co-authored by David Schwartz, Steve Ryan, and Fred Wostbrock), panelists Charlie Brill, Mitzi McCall, Jaye P. Morgan, and Pat Harrington destroyed the set during the Grand Finale. They allegedly tore up the carpet, smashed lights and signs, and as Eubanks did his signoff at the end they managed to knock down his podium. However, Morgan wasn't present for the final week (and neither was Russell, who was ill), and based on the extant audio the carnage didn't start until Eubanks signed off.
    • For many years, fans thought William T. Naud (who also worked on Blank Check) was either Dan Enright (the rhyme reveal cue on the pilot was from Jack Barry's Joker, and Check was a Barry show; Johnny Jacobs announced for both shows) or Chuck Barris (some of Rhyme's staff also worked for him). In reality, Naud was a real man who wrote, produced, and directed a few low-budget films (including 1972's Wild In The Sky, co-written by Peter Marshall and co-produced by Ralph Andrews, and the truly dreadful Rocky parody Ricky 1).
