• Troubled Production: The chimpanzee was originally intended to be a larger part of this episode, with a completely different ending with Rimmer and Lister bickering about who was going to look after it like an old married couple. However, nobody realised until the actor playing the chimp turned up on set that there were limits as to how long he could work in the costume, making the originally planned version of the episode impossible to film in the time available. The ending to the episode as broadcast was thus hastily thrown together at the last minute — the Between My Legs shot of Irene after she assumes human form was done before the part had been cast, necessitating the use of a model for this scene.
