Trivia / Red Dwarf Season III "The Last Day"

• Acting for Two: Robert Llewellyn appears out of the Kryten mask for the first time as Jim Reaper.
• Actor-Inspired Element: Originally, Holly didn't get Kryten anything for his last-day party. Hattie Hayridge argued that Holly would make the effort, and so it was written into the script.
• Deleted Scene:
  • Two extended dialogues further indulge the sadness of Kryten's imminent departure and talk of Silicon Heaven.
  • As Lister talks to the Cat while assembling the Marilyn Monroe droid, he explains that Petersen never bothered assembling the droid himself because he only ever used one component, for keeping his hands warm – on seeing the Cat's expression, he clarifies: "The thermostat." The Cat then asks to see her ass, admitting he is "a sad and lonely guy", and Lister tells him that it's in the fridge. "It has to set: it's like a jelly."
  • An image of Holly, drunk like the rest of them at the end of the party, wobbles, flattens, and goes psychedelic colours. The effect was considered weak and so not included in the aired broadcast.
  • The morning after the party, Rimmer shows just how willing he is to stand by his friends. That is, not at all, since he is terrified of going up against Hudzen-10 like the yellow-belly he is.
