"Paul Jackson saw me on Friday Night Live and they needed a female equivalent of Norman for 'Parallel Universe'. They thought, 'Oh, she looks like that' so I was sent the script - that was without audition or anything. I was just sent it straight off."

Hattie Hayridge, (17 December 1959), is a British stand-up comedian best known for playing the second Holly in Red Dwarf.

She was one of many alternative comedians in Britain in late-'80s and early-'90s. She started off in a cabaret show at the 1986 Edinburgh Festival, leading to gigs on the London comedy circuit. She also won an award in 1987 for the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year.

After an appearance on Friday Night Live in 1988, she was spotted by the producers of Red Dwarf, who thought she was perfect for the One-Shot Character Hilly, Holly's female opposite in the episode "Parallel Universe". After Norman Lovett left Red Dwarf, Hayridge took over the role of Holly in Series III. In Series IV and V, Holly's role on the series was becoming more and more redundant due to Kryten taking over the role of Mr. Exposition, leading to Holly being written out at the start of Series VI.

While Lovett returned to the role of Holly from Series VII onwards, Hayridge has still made many appearances at Red Dwarf conventions and fan events.
