- Bad Export for You: The heavily stripped down VS Puyo Puyo Sun for the Mega Drive Mini II is the only version of the game released in US and Europe. On the upside, it is fully translated, unlike Tsuu's localizations.
- What Could Have Been: VS Puyo Puyo Sun was intended to be a full port of the original game, though time constraints working on the Mega Drive Mini II left it incomplete. Since M2 had already finished the core gameplay, they decided to release a stripped down version. Had they completed it, Sun would have saw its first full localization to the west.
