- No Budget: It was made for a mere $7,000.
- What Could Have Been: After the movie's success, Shane Carruth attempted to shoot the followup "A Topiary", a Mind Screw involving repeating patterns, golden ratios, time travel and young boys creating artificial life. He abandoned the project when he realized that he was the only one taking it seriously enough.
- Writers Cannot Do Math: Averted. Carruth is a former software engineer with a degree in mathematics, and chose not to dumb down the technical terms for the audience.
