Trivia / Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw

Go To

  • Box Office Bomb: Budget, Unknown. Box office, $586,938.
  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: Several sources have identified the Muddy Waters song "Hoochie Coochie Man" as the inspiration for Marvin McNasty's Villain Song "The King of Everything". While there are noticeable similarities in the songs' melodies, the song in the movie is actually derived from "Riot in Cell Block #9" by The Robins.
  • Irony as She Is Cast: George Rose (McNasty's voice actor) was an accomplished stage singer, making his atonal yelling in "King of Everything" odd.
  • Non-Singing Voice: Two characters in the film have separate actors for speaking and singing.
    • Cooler's speaking voice is performed by Brennan Howard, with Ashley Hall providing his singing voice in the songs "At the Pound", "It's All in Your Mind", and "Puppy Power's Back".
    • The titular Big Paw is voiced by Tony Longo when speaking, with Mark Vieha singing his song "I'm a Puppy, Too".
  • Role Reprise: In spite of clearly being a separate continuity from Pound Puppies (1980s), Ruth Buzzi still voices Nose Marie, B. J. Ward resumes voicing Whopper, and Bright Eyes is still voiced by Nancy Cartwright.
