  • Throw It In!: Kala the Abra was originally just going to be the character who teleported the other characters where they needed to go, but was chosen to be the one who would teach Elina to communicate through telepathy when the author realized just how perfect Kala would be for the part.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The writer has commented on how different certain parts of the story have turned out from the earlier planning stages:
    • The dojo was originally not going to be visited until after the first crystal had been retrieved and Hercules was originally only going be a minor character who rarely appeared at all. However, when the writer got the idea of making Hercules a mentor and confidant to Blitz, Hercules was upgraded to major supporting character, which is part of the reason that the first visit to the dojo was moved to Chapter 5, and a scene that was originally going to be in Chapter 5 was moved to one of the later chapters.
    • Azure was also not originally meant to become an official member of Sera's rescue team until much later in the story, but due to Azure's Character Development, the writer felt it was only natural for her to join them sooner and thus she became part of the team in Chapter 20.
    • During the early planning stages of the story, the writer also briefly considered having Azure be male, but decided against it since Sera would then have been the only female member of the main rescue team.
    • Erebos' backstory ended up being very different from what was originally planned.
    • Frederick was originally going to evolve at some point in the story.
